Today the Retired Guys returned to downtown Lancaster. We also killed two birds with one visit today as we visited a bar that we have long wanted to visit, The Pressroom Restaurant, and also spent time being interviewed by the Fly After 5 crew; Blayne Waterloo, Kevin Stairker and Mike Andrelczyk.
Today's beer day was a great way to start 2017 with making new friends and trying some new brews. I think we were both a little apprehensive as to how the interview would go, but the Fly After 5 crew put us both at ease and provided an atmosphere of relaxation and friendly conversation. Garry and I are both still very surprised that other people are interested in the quest we are on and find our local bar experience of value.
The Pressroom itself was a little tough at first to get a feel for the surroundings, but after our 15 minutes of fame Garry and I settled into our comfort zone, a seat at the bar. Chris, our bartender, was very friendly, outgoing and knowledgeable of the beers available. As to the beers available, 16 on draught with only one being of the light variety. Chris also said there were approximately 50 different bottled beers. The Pressroom is definitely a cut or two above a neighborhood bar with a more upscale décor and menu, but I'm sure everyone would feel comfortable having a drink with friends or a classy dinner on date night.
All in all, today was a very enjoyable day of beer and conversation. The Pressroom was a very worthwhile beer destination and the podcast interview with the fun crew from Fly After 5 made this another special day in the life of two Retired Guys.

Until next time, Cheers!
Really enjoyed the article in the paper today, and your website is a must-read for beer lovers in the county. I do want to suggest that you not miss what I consider the best place for beer in the county, and that's Moo-Duck Brewery in my hometown of Elizabethtown. Their beers are the equal of (and mostly better than)any I've had anywhere (and I recently hit a lot of craft breweries on the west coast). I don't think you'll be disappointed. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteThanks Chet, Moo-Duck Brewery is already on our list. We'll eventually get to it!
